Simpsons Trailer

Just saw the Simpsons movie. Yes, it was definitely worth it. There was hardly a point in the movie that the whole crowd did not laughed their assess off. Lots of surprises and lot of same old Simpsons humor that everybody loves. There is also a frontal nude scene that may lead to a porno career for one of the cast members.

SIGNATUNE

This is a video for a DJ Mehdi tune, remixed by Thomas Bangalter, one half of Daft Punk. It's pretty sick. It's not amazing, because I have heard this style because of listening from Daft Punk so much. But I do like the video. The ending is a very hilarious twist to the story. It almost seems like...nevermind, just watch the video.

Ultimate Fighter Finale

Image courtesy of UFC.COM and ZUFFA, INC.
I just finished watching this fight. BJ Penn is a savage. Truly a technician. I didn't notice any uneasiness for BJ Penn during the fight. Smooth transition with his submissions. The rear naked choke hold was beautiful. I liked how he used his legs to keep Jens Pulver's armed down causing him to be defenseless near the neck area. A true living legend.
Jens pulver is a great fighter as well. A fighter with great heart and powerful hands. Can't take nothing away.
The ultimate fighter fights were okay, I guess. The finale was weak, except for the first round. Nate Diaz is a good fighter but the injury to Manny dampens this win for me. Hopefully in a couple months they can have a proper rematch.
Joe Lauzon is a savage, 'nuff said.
Roger Huerta is also savage.
Overall, a good night of action from the UFC. Can't wait for 73 and 75 to come. Definitely, can't wait for UFC75 with the Henderson and Jackson fight.

Weekly Crap

It's the new way to keep on blogging. Anyway, I buy shit every week, so why not just keep a running tally of the bullshit that I buy. Magazines, clothes, books, food, anything and everything. Anyway here is this week's crap.

Magazine(s) this Week:
Nylon Guys. Nice magazine, this caught my eyes because of the nigo feature. But I like the magazine overall.
Clothing:
Not much, just a bandana from the movie Hostel 2. I don't like horror movies that much. But when free shit falls on your lap, you just take it.

Kanye West - Cant' Tell Me Nothing

I don't know about this track, it ain't bad but I thought he would come out with something a little bit more uptempo than this track. It is not a bad track, it's actually pretty good. With the Young Jeezy samples and the hammers slamming down on the metal as the overlay on the hi-hats. I like it but he should come out with something slamming. But it's probably the point of the album. Coming out from college and making that money is what 'Ye is going for with this track and the whole album, in general, and it should be fire. Hot fire, man!

New CDs In My Collection

Yours to Keep

My collection is growing stronger. Before, cds I bought were either of hip hop or house genres. Though, I still get my ocassional hip hop or house cd, but I am veering off the usual path and going into some pop rock stuff.

Two cds that I just bought were the new Jarvis Cocker cd and the solo debut of Albert Hammond Jr, he's one of the band members of The Strokes. The one with the jewfro. Anyway, two really good album. Especially the Albert Hammond Jr album. It's a little bit more of a slowed down, softer edge strokes album. The Jarvis Cocker album is the same old Jarvis Cocker album. But he delivers everytime with witty lyrics and great music.

Anyway, pick these albums if you want to explore some new music and you just want to grow up.

UFC:71 LIDDELL VS. JACKSON

I was originally not going to buy this PPV match, but I gave in. $39.99 bucks and I think it was worth it. Anyway, liddell and jackson was a good fight even if it did last for a minute and a half. But there was at least two good fights on the card. The Parysian fight wasn't bad and the houston alexander vs "the dean of mean" keith jardine wasn't a bad fight either. I know, I complained about the main event being too short, but this fight was a complete shocker. Jardine just did not take Houston Alexander seriously, and he paid for it. He got beat senseless and Houston just punched till his mouth guard came out. Anyway, this will probably be the only PPV match that I see from UFC this year. Until the Dan Henderson match with Quinton Jackson or when the PRIDE FC fighters start coming into the UFC for bouts, then I might order again. Come on Shogun Rua and Wanderlei Silva! Come and destroy the competition.

Madlib & Talib Kweli - Liberation

What else is new? Hip hop music is seeing a resurgence of sorts with new releases by mainstream, old-school minded artists such as Nas and Jay-Z. The remedy is coming. With word of an upcoming joint from Mos Def and Pharoah Monch, hip hop is staging a crazy comeback.
Something that was overshadowed over the christmas break is the EP of Madlib & Talib Kweli. Talib Kweli has tried to hit the mainstream bubble with little puncture, but he is still probably the best MC this side of the pacific. Madlib will always be Madlib. Beats that are so dirty that they are actually pretty clean.
Anyway, go get this EP and reactivate hip hop.
